Thirst Universe

This past week I was fortunate enough to go to Nashville and meet some great youth workers from all across the country.  On the first day I met a youth minister named Paul. We talked about our jobs and so on and so forth and he told me a story about how his teens were on a Mission trip and they all stopped at a gas station. As Paul filled the van with gasoline the teens went in to fill up on junk food and drinks. To Paul’s surprise, they all came out with “THE THIRST UNIVERSE” a fountain drink so large the only way to describe it would be…well, Thirst Universe. Read more »

We Come to You

As a single person I oftentimes go to Mass by myself and find this time to be extremely reflective and personal. My thoughts most often go to experiencing Christ in the Eucharist and focusing on how the readings relate to me in my own life.

A few Sundays ago, I had the same thought. The time for Communion came, I went up, received Jesus and knelt back down in my pew, basking in the beauty of Jesus, thankful that I only had to focus on myself and Jesus. I usually do my best at this time not to watch the Communion line for cute boys, but to focus more importantly, on Christ Jesus within me, making me whole. However, this day my wandering eyes caught something truly magnificent in the Communion line. Read more »
