Steubenville LIVE In Your Living Room
Every summer for the past 12 years, the Office of Youth Ministry here in the Archdiocese of St. Louis has co-sponsored, along with the Franciscan University of Steubenville in Ohio, youth conferences for high school students. Over 32,000 people have attended these events since 1999, and I have met many teens who consider “Steubenville” to be a highlight of their high school career - a foundational experience of unparalleled closeness to God, especially during adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday and Saturday nights.
This past summer, two conferences were held on two consecutive weekends at the brand new JQ Arena on the campus of MSU in Springfield, MO - a facility where Carrie Underwood had performed just a few weeks earlier. The entire conference was recorded on the facility’s state of the art soundboard, and the sound technicians and band members were so impressed with the quality of the recording that they decided to master the first-ever Steubenville Mid America Live CD.
There are many reasons why you simply must hear this CD, and here are my top 10 -
- Adam Bitter is arguably one of the best worship leaders in St. Louis, and he happens to be Catholic!
- The musicians who play with Adam are top-notch professionals from a variety of parishes in the metro area.
- If you were at the conference, listening to this disc will recapture the experience for you.
- If you were not at the conference, you will experience a taste of this wonderful event.
- You can hear some of today’s best worship music from a variety of Christian artists without having to purchase multiple albums.
- The band members did not know they were being recorded for a Live CD; they are praying, not performing.
- You will be able to pray these songs along with 3100 Catholics; most of whom are teenagers.
- This CD will transform your car, treadmill, home, or office (or wherever you play it) into an incredibly sacred space.
- It will restore your hope in this generation of teenagers.
- It will help to support our Office of Youth Ministry in its outreach efforts to today’s teens.
This CD can be purchased online through the Office of Youth Ministry’s website and will be available for the first time ever at the REAP Team benefit concert on October 2 at Incarnate Word Parish in Chesterfield (where Adam will perform many of these same songs).
