World Youth Day 2013

Dates are July 21-29, 2013. 

The Office of Youth Ministry is joining with the Office of Young Adult Ministry to coordinate a World Youth Day Pilgrimage to Brazil! 

Estimated cost is 3500.00 dollars.

We have aleady made our first deposit, which guarantees our trip will not be canceled.  If you haven't turned in your deposit yet, you can still join us!  Please contact us if you wish to join us or want more information!

Theme of WYD 2013: "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Mt 28:19) 

Travel Agency: Due to their great knowledge and experience, we are working with JMJ Youth to coordinate our travel.

Age Limit: This pilgrimage is open to most teens and all young adults.  There is an age limit, however.  A teen must reach the age of 16 on or before July 21st, 2013, to be eligible for the pilgrimage. 

St. Louis Archdiocese 9-Day WYD Itinerary:
 July 21st  Depart St. Louis for Rio de Janeiro

July 22nd  Arrive in Rio, Meet your guide, Enjoy a city tour of Rio including the Metropolitan Cathedral, train through the Tijuaca Forest up Corcovado to the Statue of the Christ (subject to capacity), and cable car to the top of the iconic Sugar Loaf for spectacular views of Rio. Transfer to hotel and check in, prepare for WYD

July 23rd  Morning free, World Youth Day begins this afternoon with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

July 24th  Catechesis and WYD venues

July 25th  Catechesis and Papal Welcome

July 26th  Catechesis and Stations of the Cross

July 27th  Pilgrimage Walk and Vigil with Holy Father

July 28th  Papal Mass and announcement of the next WYD. Pilgrimage back to lodging. Evening Free

July 29th  Depart Rio for St. Louis
