Changes to the OYM

Dear Catholic Community of the Archdiocese of St. Louis,

As the Office of Youth Ministry (OYM) concludes our summer of youth retreat camps and conferences, I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some recent changes to our office that we believe will strengthen the understanding of youth ministry and offer new avenues for youth to encounter Christ’s love and truth.

On March 13, 2015, Archbishop Robert Carlson announced some changes to the Catholic Youth Apostolate (CYA). The first of those changes was that Fr. Brian Fischer was returning to parish ministry and Brian Miller was announced as his successor as the Executive Director of the CYA. The second was that the Office of Catholic Scouting was absorbed by the OYM. The CYA is now made up of four ministries within one apostolate: Office of Youth Ministry, St. Louis Young Adults, CYC Sports, and the REAP Team.  Read more »
